Simply Charming

I've just discovered a fantastic book The Charm Of Charms by Jade Albert and Ki Hackney. Stunningly photographed, wonderfully written -- it's absolutely the last word on charms and charm bracelets -- their history, their meaning, their owners. If you're already a collector, you'll go crazy and if you're not, I guarantee you'll start collecting immediately. Charms can range from inexpensive to stratospheric, but they have one thing in common -- it's all about the memories.

The Charm of Charms is published by Harry Abrams. www.amazon.com

Shine On

One of the things that I just love are chandeliers, and I'm lucky to have two of them hanging in my apartment, adding a bit of decadence to the decor. They are available for as low as $139, so there is absolutely no excuse for bad overhead lighting any more. Check out this adorable site, www.chezpaulettesfrenchmarket.com for wonderful ones like the C'est Magnifique Le Petite Chandelier. You will love the glitz, gilt and glamour that a glorious chandelier will bring to your room.

New Year, New Experiences...unlock the door to living, loving and learning this New Year -- and don't forget an absolutely gorgeous new key ring! I love these shiny ones from www.bijouxdelamer.com in a bevy of shapes including seahorse, mermaid, fish or lobster. They are beautifully made in pewter in a small studio by artisans, and cost $11.00.

Icy cool jewels...perfect for holiday parties.

I just discovered these glittering jewels and had to share them. The Cool Jewels ice tray makes three dimensional "rocks" that will make the small talk at your next holiday bash simply sparkle. Add fruit juice like cranberry for rubies, and well, you get the idea. Food grade flexible plastic measures 8" by 4" x 1" and makes 6 cubes. Cool Jewels Ice Tray -a girl's best friend can be found at www.spoonsisters.com.

A Girl Can Dream Can't She?

A gigantic diamond, sized at over 84 carats, was just sold at auction by Sothebys in Geneva, Switzerland. As someone who loves the mystery and the magic of diamonds, I can only imagine how amazingly gorgeous this stone must be. It is a D-color and flawless, and was bought by Georges Marciano, who built his fortune on making our butts look great -- he is the founder of Guess Jeans.

The price tag for this work of art and nature was a little over $16 million dollars, and the lucky lady who will most likely receive it may be his daughter, Chloe, who the stone is named for.
